What started as work on neighbouring coffee farms slowly became a passion and a way of life. Through years of dedication and savings, the family was able to purchase their first plot of land and begin cultivating coffee independently. Today, Villa Vista reflects the hard work and perseverance of the entire family.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe farm produces mainly Catimor, along with Colombia and Bourbon varieties, carefully cultivated under the shade of plantain, avocado, and citrus trees. Gilma oversees the pulping and drying processes, while her son supports the washing stage and local workers assist during harvest and farm maintenance. Cherries are selectively harvested at peak ripeness, followed by a meticulous fermentation process that includes 24 hours in cherry and another 24 hours in dry fermentation tanks before washing. For Gilma, specialty coffee has brought more than economic stability — it has improved her family’s quality of life and allowed continued investment in the farm and home.
